Anna FitzpatrickMCTA Player Anna Fitzpatrick had a successful two weeks competing in 10k tournaments in UK, Felixstowe and Frinton. Anna made the singles final of Frinton this week beating No.5 seed Jocelyn Rae 64, 64  in her way, but lost to Heather Watson of Great Britain 46 64 62 in the final. Anna was a finalist in the doubles event too.  She teamed up with Australian Emelyn Starr. They lost in the final to Rae and Windley of Great Britain 63, 75.

Last week in Felixstowe Anna made quarters of singles and semis of doubles.

David Sammel, MCTA Head Coach said: ‘The important aspect is Anna's foot is getting stronger every day and she has had no averse reaction after a series of matches. We are hopeful and confident that she can finally put her year struggle with injury behind her and focus on rebuilding her career. This is a good start as her legs also need to rebuild strength after so long without being able to put weight through them’

Anna will spend a week training in NTC. She then travels for 5 days practice in Austria with coaches Jim Edgar and Jason Torpey who will help her and Christina Mathis prepare for two 10K's. They all go to Vienna and Innsbruck.

Christina will represent Austria in the European Championships this week and Stefi Boffa will compete in two 25K's in Spain from Monday.
